Dowdy's Excavating didn't start in a boardroom, it started with a family that knew how to work.

Two brothers and their father built this business from the ground up, combining decades of hands-on experience into one operation they could stand behind with their name. After 40 years of combined expertise in excavation and dirt work, Dowdy's was officially established in 2019, and it's been family-run, family-proud ever since.

When you call us, you're talking to the people doing the work. That's the way we've always done it, and that's the way we intend to keep it.

Who We Are

We're a father-and-sons operation based out of Byrdstown, TN, serving customers across a 100-mile radius, from the Cumberland Plateau to the Upper Cumberland region and everywhere in between.

We're not a big corporation with a call center and rotating crews. We're your neighbors. We live here, work here, and take pride in every job we do in this community.
